Cooling pillows or pillowcases

User280905 · 11/08/2022 00:36

I'm so hot and sweaty at nights just now, combination of heat and menopause.

Does anyone find that silk pillowcases or anything keep them cool? I've heard mixed reviews, some people preferring 100% cotton.

Or cooling gel pads inside pillowcases? I've seen them advertised but not sure they look very comfortable.

Has anyone got any recommendations?

I use silk pillowcases just so I don't get massive creases in my face. I don't think they do anything to cool me though.

The gel 'chillows' are pretty uncomfortable for my head, but I find them fine for lying on (just put them in an empty pillow case) and they are really effective for cooling you down. And you don't have to put them in the fridge beforehand or anything either. I have two, so when one inevitably warms up, I can swap it out for the other one.
