Today I had a "hello, sorry, I was busy, back now, where were we" sort of message from a guy I was talking to about 3 weeks ago. Didn't take kindly to me telling him where to go.

Then I had a new message from someone else "Hi Lucy" (when my name is Laura")*

I'm now allergic to guys who are "too terribly busy with work" to text back/see you after a very bad experience with one of those types last year.

Well, as you seem overly invested in "Britney" I might not respond either.

Eugh yes, those sort of guys were clearly just chatting to someone else that they felt was a better option, it didn't work out, so they're trying you now.

In some ways I understand it; if I'm talking to a bloke I'm quite keen on, my messaging to any other blokes is a bit half hearted and sporadic, even if they seem nice. But then if things (inevitably) don't work out with the first one I was most keen on, I'm always too embarrassed to send the "hey stranger!" to the other ones I largely ignored weeks before 😂

Only solipsistic photos of them holding large fish that they’ve caught.

Internal monologue: “I like fishing, I am impressed when fellow anglers catch a large fish, this is pretty big for a tench, I will send this photo of me holding the tench to strange women I connect with on OLD and they too will be impressed.”

A friend who is a similar age to me (50) but newly single, was very perplexed by the number of fish pics on OLD. Who knew angling was so popular?
