Bought a new DNA kit off eBay as a gift but they've cancelled it!!

I'm so annoyed!!!

Last July I bought a DNA kit off eBay (brand new and sealed!! - unwanted gift apparently)
For £65

I gave it my dad who was adopted and he was so grateful. I kept meaning to ask about it but only just remembered last week when he told me he tried to do it but when he entered the code the company said the purchaser had cancelled it!! He felt too embarrassed to tell me at the time.

Now I've traced the purchase on eBay and sent the seller a message telling her im really annoyed and I want a refund. She's not replied typically.
I can't raise a PayPal dispute because it's over a certain time frame and the credit card I paid with has since been closed.

What can I do? £65 is a lot of money for me and I clearly have to (want to) replace for my dad.

I’d contact eBay and let them know, just in case they can help.

I will try but I doubt eBay will do anything after so long ☹️

Thats frustrating. Might it be that they have a time limit on them and so once that lapses it flags as cancelled by the purchaser?

No the expiry date is next year. The company has confirmed it was cancelled at the purchasers request!
