Hello Fresh, has anyone experienced this?

So received an email today saying my courier was out for delivery with my hello fresh order.. never placed an order with them before! This was news to me. Not only was it shipping to an old address but also a bunch of random meals (that we wouldn’t eat anyway as we are vegetarian!) turns out they have charged my account £45 for this order and won’t refund me as it’s my responsibility to update my address?!?

i made an account yonks ago, maybe two years ago and was unable to place an order with them due to there already being an account open at the property (or something like that) but that’s how they had all my details (including bloody card details!?)

i did click an ad the other day that said 50% off so just thought I’d have a look and see - defo did not place an order and it was a very quick glance as I was at the playground with DC.

what the actual fuck, I’m fuming! Surely clicking an add doesn’t mean you’re placing an order.. never received a confirmation page/email either!

Yes, I had similar about 10 days ago. First I knew was a notification from their courier. Was annoyed but blamed myself for not properly cancelling and never got around to complaining as we were too busy, about to go away. Just cancelled my account.
Looked back over emails and the last communication I'd had from them had been about 3 months ago.

More annoying was that both dishes were similar, pretty basic and aubergine based (child is sensitive to aubergine). Also had missing ingredients but as I'd cancelled the account by then there didn't seem much I could do!

I had a similar experience with Gusto and then completely closed down my account.

Sounds like by clicking on the ad and browsing you have re-activated the account.

Does anyone know how to cancel an account with Hello Fresh? I can't see it anywhere in the app!

I did it in the web version on my laptop, but think I went to the bit where you amend deliveries/choose options for the week.

i had a perfectly nice call from them asking why I didn’t use them anymore, I said I couldn’t remember. They said they would email me a discount code, I said thanks.
luckily I read the email properly when it came through as turned out they had not only emailed the discount code but reactivated the account and booked in a delivery slot! I was able to cancel it in time, but yes, cheeky bastards indeed.
