Had a 2stage interview with a big corporate company last Wednesday, haven't heard anything back but am I right in thinking this is more likely that I haven't got it? I was contacted 2 days after the first interview to arrange the 2nd stage ( so they were fast acting first time round)

Should I prepare myself that it's a no at this stage? Or coukd they be fine tuning details? Please give me honest thoughts.

It is a big company if that makes a difference so they will have proper processes in place.

Hi
Sadly, in my own experience , for what it is worth in my experience it may be a no.
Although in August everybody and his wife seems to be on holiday so it could be just that.
It is so stressful and annoying when they don't let you know straight away!

I really appreciate your reply. I'm thinking the same. I hate that they keep you hanging on though with extreme nerves.

I work for a big corporate and our recruitment process takes an age. They could well be arranging another round of interviews but people are on leave. I would have expected an update by now though. They could also be keeping you warm until another candidate is seen. Can you email and ask?

@MumTrain thanks so much for reply. They had been so good at updating me and last week the recruitment manger contracted me on LinkedIn to let me know she was on holiday until this week and to wish me luck
And that she would be in touch this week. So I dunno what to make of it all

How weird !!! They've literally just emailed to say one of the people were on holidays last week. I should hear today. Ahhhhhhhhh I'm so nervous as I really would love this opportunity

I feel like they should tell you about upcoming holidays etc at the end of the interview to temper expectations about timescales. I had an interview a couple of weeks ago and it took them a week to send the "thanks but no thanks" email - it's bloody torturous and makes job hunting really emotionally exhausting.

I hope you get good news today!

Got my fingers crossed for you - come back and let us know won't you?

BashfulClam · 10/08/2022 11:08

I was kept waiting 4 weeks once. The fact they have rescue out to say they’ll be in touch is a good sign.

talknomore · 10/08/2022 11:12

Sadly in my experience even big companies don't bother to send any comments after the second interview.
Your's is much better already.

emmathedilemma · 10/08/2022 11:13

Big corporate and proper processes means more hoops to jump through and it's peak holiday season so it'll only need one person in that chain of hoop signing to be off and nothing will happen for a week or two! I would maybe call or email them if you haven't heard anything by Friday. If they knew someone was going on leave they should have told you it might take a couple of weeks to get offers out.

I promise I'll come back and update you all. Nothing as yet though. Not even sure if there will be a third stage or not?
