Why is Dr John Campbell talking nuclear??!

Usernamestillloading · 09/08/2022 23:27

He was talking about covid - but this video is about nuclear clouds etc- is he qualified in this subject? Surely people have enough to worry about??

OP posts:

He a retired nurse. He's not qualified in medicine or nuclear science.

I don’t have time to watch as soothing newborn. What’s going on?

lapasion · 09/08/2022 23:43

I was watching a YouTube the other day that claimed you could make panacotta by putting milk in the microwave. I mean, it’s YouTube. People spout all kinds of bollocks on there and there’s an understanding that a lot of is is unlikely to be accurate.

zen1 · 09/08/2022 23:45

I used to watch him at the beginning of COVID when he used to be quite sensible, but I’ve read elsewhere that he’s gone a bit weird and starting putting out almost conspiracy type info.

Oops don’t know what happened there

Seems strange topic to pick when he is not qualified to do so

OP posts:
Silverswirl · 10/08/2022 00:19

I’ve watched a few of his videos but they are literally just rambling bullshit. He seems like he is now just making videos for the sake of making videos, scrambling for content rather than actually saying anything interesting or informative

sleepwouldbenice · 10/08/2022 00:36

Wasn't qualified for covid either
Just trying to keep his fame and money

Yes, he was fine on hand washing and other basic infection control type of stuff. As you'd expect a nurse to be. Not a doctor or scientist though.

CentrifugalBumblePuppy · 10/08/2022 01:52

It’s the first video I’ve seen of his for about a year, and being a nuke nerd it peaked my interest. I really think he was dialling up the panic about the nuclear situation at Zhaporizhzya. I can only assume it was in response to the IAEA news today about a shelling incident on a dry storage facility www.iaea.org/newscenter/pressreleases/update-89-iaea-director-general-statement-on-situation-in-ukraine-0

We don’t all need to be running out to get potassium iodide pills, unlike the multiple preppers stirred into a frenzy in the comments.

As the IAEA report says, the situation at the plant is serious (as is the situation in Ukraine as a whole) but they are continuously monitoring the situation & no abnormal radiological measurements were taken following the latest shelling of the dry storage.

Nuke plants aren’t like the RBMK reactors that were poorly designed (& thrown up in 5 minutes) like the units at Chernobyl. The only similarity is that they are both power stations in the same country. Units are designed to be quite literally bombproof today, with comprehend containment around the reactors.

Yes, in 1986 there was widespread contamination across Europe, but the issue of sheep farming in Wales & Scotland was due to accumulative doses due to grazing on mildly contaminated land. There wasn’t one big cloud & we all got sick (we didn’t know about it until the sites at Sellafield & Sweden started alerting, by which time it had passed over the majority of the UK).

The situation at Zhaporizhzya is serious, that is undeniable. And my heart goes out to the Ukrainian staff at the plant. But his video tonight, no matter how many times he urged people not to panic, was definitely making people in the comments panic.

If you want to keep an eye on the situation, the IAEA updates with regular news on their website. If they say run, run. Don’t listen to a fella that has a doctorate in communication.

Welcome to the Internet. You'll find a lot of that here.

Just a little of the wrong statements Nurse Campbell has mad e along with his £1 million

5 million cases of myocarditis in the UK - using wrong figures. Clearly preposterous exaggeration

Children admitted with covid - claimed it was for precautionary measures - no evidence

Claimed officials stats cant be trusted as more people registered with a GP than there are people in the uK - forgetting that people can be registered with two GPs.

Claimed the vaccine isn't a vaccine because of 10,000 side effects recorded in Western Oz - 99.7% were sore arms and feeling tired. Serious side effects were less than 1 in 50,000 and less than with infection. Gave no proof for this not being a vaccine or reasons it was not acceptable

Claimed the death rate in the UK was one in 6000 based on false extrapolation of the yellow card system when vaccines are monitored by three additional systems.

Tried to explain auto immunity and just explained immunity so patently doesn't have a clue what it is.

Implied there was a risk of MS post vaccination when the MS society denied this and incidence increased post covid infection

Claimed the death rates from covid weren't as high because people had other conditions.

Claimed caused miscarriage when there is zero evidence and every women who died in the uK who was pregnant was unvaccinated . Zero deaths in vaccinated pregnant women.

Claimed vaccines affected fertility when there is zero evidence.

Claaimed vitamin D was effective acutely when accepted evidence disputes this. The meta analysis left out negative studies. It included an observational study which cant be include in a meta analysis of that type so wasnt worth anything

Has never commented on the increased risk of death post infection (x5 ) from cardiac death in next 18 moths, the overall increase in mortality post infection , the 100% increase in dementia if over 85 , the increased neuropsychiatric disease after infection, the increased risk of MS , ITP, shingles and Guillian Barre syndrome after infection.

Has never commented on the 18 papers showing ivermectin doesnt work

Here are just a few wrong statements he has made

Ivemerctin – there is no proof it works. Yet he has made over 21 videos over 15 hours giving the wrong impression that there is a cover up for this cheap “safe “ medicine.

The WHO, FDA, CDC, manufacturer, medical colleges, NGO and the inventor all state there is currently no proof it works

John claims we need more exact information from governments – we have it – don’t use it as it doesn’t work.

He states in an interview with Russell Brand that there are no randomised controlled trials for the use of ivermectin or hydroxychloroquine which is totally false. There are at least 18 considered by Cochrane for ivermectin and three large studies for hydroxychloroquine.

He falsely claimed it was responsible for the drop in cases in Udar Pradesh when serology sampling showed there was majority positivity- either people had had it or were immunised so the rates fell before it was ever offered.

He likewise claimed a ”miracle in Japan” when it has 77% double vaccinated rate and it is not authorised for use.

He claimed a study in Brazil showed it worked when 96% of people in a non randomised trial didn’t take the drug that wouldn’t have been in the human body for 66% of the time even if they had – it makes no sense – let alone it was partly written by one person who worked for the FLCC crackpots and the other is being investigated for fraud - yet he claims the evidence is being suppressed when he just cant understand it.

He has a video entitled Oklahoma and ivermectin – all the attorney general said was they wouldn’t prosecute if it was used not that it was shown to be effective.

ARDS is not an infection – therefor that’s not where you want the antibiotics to be in the “highest concentration”

It is pointless to give the registered side effects of drugs if you don’t provide the number of drug administrations to give the relative safety

15 and 32 out of a million are not “very large differences” – they are statistically insignificant.

Aspiration before injection – zero evidence of benefit. In hundreds of billions of vaccinations -no proof . It is not recommended as it increases pain and resultant decreased uptake . There is a risk of under or non vaccination

Myocarditis – one iv injection in mice is not proof of cause and effect in humans. If this was the case then there would not be a. sex bias and variable with vaccination type. Penicillin kills guinea pigs so one animal study is worthless.

He claims that the at risk group had an 88 times increased risk of cardiac complications post Covid vaccination yet missed out that the risk from covid to the same people would be 3800 greater or that the consequences were inconsequential.

He gave a review on a discredited abstract claiming that it showed that covid vaccination would result in increased risk of heart attacks without clearly understanding what the article was claiming or even on the face of it was as there is currently no accurate tool for predicting heart attacks risk due to prior insults.

The Cochrane review is not “ some Germans” it is the biggest and most respected medical review organisation in the world.

Self published is of negligible standard.

The BBC is an internationally respected organisation which he is in the huff about as they took apart his claims that ivermectin works – along with everyone else.

Randomised studies have the same number in each arm – otherwise by definition they aren’t randomised.

Most of the studies he talks about are too small to be statistically significant.

He claimed that a paper that said “theoretical” in the title was “firm evidence” – let alone the concept was preposterous.

He promoted a metanalysis which was fundamentally flawed in nature and the second largest study was withdrawn for fraud. After being published on the authors own hospital website.

And just to finish off…

Indians don’t speak Indian.

It’s a British penny not an English penny

The liver is on the right side of the body.

He takes the word of anyone who speaks to him as gospel and presents papers without knowing anything about them.

He is not medically qualified and used to teach in accident and emergency. So apparently doesn’t have experience in ITU virology or public health.

Misleading video titles

Vitamin D, Strong evidence from Israel

Vitamin D long been established of association with poorer outcome with Covid and increased overall mortality – no evidence that supplementation or treatment alters the outcome of covid

Myocarditis after vaccination, firm data

Increased incidence – a few per million but 40 X more likely with covid infection

Ivermectin in Oklahoma

No proof about the therapeutic effect of ivermectin legal comment stating prosecution would not take place if it was prescribed

Ivermectin, Mexico, Peru, India

“evidence from a quasi-experimental analysis based on a public intervention in Mexico City”- in other words no evidence at all

Ivermectin prophylactic study from India

Not a trial - pre print not peer reviewed not blinded. Not published.

Ivermectin in Japan

Was not used or recommended in Japan.

Miracle in Japan

No miracle – no use of ivermectin and widespread vaccination.

Ivermectin or Molnupiravir

Pointless comparison of one treatment demonstrated to work with one treatment with no evidence to work and gives misleading impression that they are both effective

Home ivermectin based kits in India

Not proof of effect. Clickbait headline

Now either they are all in on this conspiracy - or just journalists and not doctors as he ironically points out so there for anything they say is not true - or he is an old unqualified idiot.

Meaghan Kall, head of COVID-19 epidemiology at the UK Health Security Agency, said the entirety of the evidence that ivermectin is behind Japan's success is a coincidence - that the decline began two weeks after the TMA doctor's suggestion.
"The video's primary argument is a classic case of correlation ≠ causation," she tweeted of Dr Campbell's claims, saying there was no evidence ivermectin was even being prescribed in large amounts for off-label use, or by people self-treating themselves with product - usually intended for livestock - off the internet.
"There is none. Zip zero nada," she said. "It appears this is based on anecdata on social media driving wildly damaging misinformation."

He has a phd in nursing and is or at least was a lecturer. He's a smart man and has enough medical knowledge to give advice on radiation and the health implications.m surrounding that. He's definitely an academic that's for sure. Berating someone for 'just' being a nurse is completely ignorant and I have a sneaky suspicion it's because you don't like the facts he speaks about the covid pandemic.

He's been 'fact checked'
And then you real off Facebook and the bbc. Because they are such^^ trustworthy news sources aren't they.

mdmurray17 · 28/07/2023 08:37

I have recorded hundreds of things he has said that are untrue and this is the extend of your analysis. Does that change anything or is this just a diversionary comment?

Im afraid perfection is a high bar. I would trust the BBC or even Facebook fact checkers over a man who deliberately spreads misinformation deliberately because he is a greedy attention seeking morally corrupt ex nurse.

mdmurray17 · 28/07/2023 08:40

No he lies. I have clearly listed just some of the inaccurate information or frank lies.

If you want to demonstrate that anything I have written is wrong please do so. While you are there highlight your training and expertise as I suspect you wouldn't actually know when you are being told incorrect information

Making false statements doesn't make truth. You are simply avoiding the issue as you are an an anti vaxxer

mdmurray17 · 28/07/2023 08:48

He has a correspondence Phd in making videos to teach nurse. He used to help in A and E . He is not an academic. He is not by any stretch of the imagination an intelligent man.
In a recent video he tried to explain auto immunity and simply described normal immunity. He claimed the liver was on the left side of the body and that ARDS was an infection. These are basic facts he gets wrong.
He claimed that national stats couldn't be trusted because there are more people registered with GPs that there are people - while missing the fact that people can be registered with two GPs - this really isnt rocket science.

He has no expertise in virology, public health , pharmacology or medicine - why he is even comment on nuclear physics is anyones guess.

Your guess is wrong. Anyone can talk about anything - but dont pose as an authority when he clearly has no clue , is unqualified to comment and deliberately spreads misinformation. In a recent video he claimed that you can do some quantitive analysis on the comments as proof supporting his claims. Which consisted of reading out comments. its laughable. Sadly the uneducated viewers wouldn't know enough to know that what he is saying is false. But he has made millions by promoting demonstrably false information.
