Decent Hair Colourist in Manchester?

I've had another terrible colour. Black base with dull yellow / white stripes through it. Will be going over it with a warmer box colour shortly.

I have grey hair. It used to be dark brown, almost black. There are still some bits of the natural colour at the back.

Every time I go to a hairdresser, I point out that as it's grey, they don't need to attempt to dye it back to its original colour because it's aging. I'd like a medium brown with golden highlights through. This seems to be beyond them though.

I think you need to pay too dollar for a decent colour really.

The general standards in colouring seem pretty low.

Melissa Timperly salon is amazing but pricey (£225 for balayage and toner)

Thanks. Happy to pay if it looks good.

Another vote for Melissa Timperley. DD and I have both been going since she opened.

This is what I asked for. Surely grey hair is a blank canvass

If you're prepared to go out of city centre, Vanilla Tramp in West Didsbury are awesome - ask for Katy or Lily. I've been prematurely greying and they've been fab at helping me transition my colour (dyed v dark to light mushroom brown with silver highlights). Balayage starts from about £130.

If anyone likes my colour it was done by Pose in Sale.
