Manchester airport 7am departure (T3) - how horrific is it going to be?

Anyone flown out from Manc on a morning this week?

I have a group.of nervous flyers (and the nerves begin way before the airport) and I'm so worries that its just going to be a shit show.

Flight at 7am, aiming to be there for 4am. Ryanair as well which worries me even more.

Tell me it will al be OK, security will be quick and painless and I won't have a family of stressed little monkeys?

I went last week, about 8am, check in and security were absolutely fine, no delays. Flew out without a problem.

Coming back on the other hand was a total different story!

Me too, through security in about 20 minutes, very smooth & efficient.

I was worried about what the press has been splashing all over but no, absolutely fine.

In fact the last couple of times in recent months flying from Manchester has been absolutely fine.
I travel a lot with work so use Manchester a lot.

Also fine recently - we’d bought fast track but it was pointless as there was no queue whatsoever.

the fact it’s Ryanair won’t change anything - even business class emirates has to get through security!

Good to hear! It dies make you wonder why there's so much negative propagander. Please keep your fingers crossed for us, eeeekkk!

It will be fine. Don't turn up any earlier than 3 hours before flight time, as that is what causes the problems.

Nope - definitely don't want to be part of the problem!

In late May I had a 7am flight on a Wednesday from T3. Queues were horrendous and I, and others on my flight, made it just in time but with no time to go to the loo, get a coffee, etc. However, that was over two months ago and they should be on top of the staffing problems they had by now.

Whataplanker · 09/08/2022 11:54

We went from T2 two weeks ago. It was absolutely fine. Flight was 6:05. We walked straight up to check in and had fast passes for security which came as part of a package with our car parking so we pretty much walked straight through there too! We actually had bags of time to spare.

Baggage reclaim on the way back was the biggest delay.

We flew from T1 this week. Taxi driver who picked us up at 8am did the whole teeth-sucking/head shaking, "oh god, the queues have been mental at T1 this week" (although he did say 2 and 3 were fine).

Queues no different than any other airport, we were through in about 20 mins.

Plenty of staff, really helpful and polite. Loads of very clear notices specifying what needs to be in the trays*

*lighters - who knew? I fly quite a lot and have never had to put my lighter in a clear bag before.
