How do you go about getting quality careers advice?

I would like to get my son careers advice but don't really know where to start. He's about to go into year 11 and hasn't got a clue about his next steps. I know the school will help a bit but I'd like something more personalised. Any suggestions?

I would suggest the National Careers Service as a starting point outwith school support. There should be provision in school too but the level of support will depend on what the school has allocated budget wise. Explore the local council service too for support.

Sometimes turning on its head - what he doesn't want to do can start the thought process about his next steps and plans.
