Can't open my mouth wide, wisdom tooth coming in, is it normal?

I've got a wisdom tooth that's been coming through

It feels like it's crowding my mouth. I know that doesn't make sense but it feels like it's pushing against something and my jaw isn't big enough for it Blush

Additionally, I can't open my mouth! If someone said say 'ahhh' I'd struggle. It's so painful

Has anyone been through this? Is it just a part of wisdom teeth coming in?

Can't bloody get in to see a private dentist anywhere, all taken up. And what good is my 'free' dental care for 1 year maternity wise if I can't see anyone Sad

Just watching BBC news about people not being able to get appointments.
had to have my wisdom teeth out op for that exact reason....mouth was too small to house them so it is definitely a thing

I had this when I had my wisdom teeth coming in. It was like lock jaw. It was caused by an infection and compacted teeth. My dentist gave me antibiotics and then once the infection cleared he took them out, this was 20 years ago.

I couldn't open my mouth either, was awful.
