About 8 years ago I had my first baby. When he was about 2 month old, I met up with an old friend from college. My baby took a dummy and the first thing she said when she saw him was "A dummy? Seriously?" We had a coffee together and caught up but I felt very flat and hurt the whole time and didn't want to be there. We never met up again as I carried a real sense of annoyance about it for years! I was actually recovering from a seriously traumatic birth and was incredibly emotionally fragile at the time. Looking back though, it wasn't a big deal.
Has anyone ever offended you, when in retrospect it wasn't really that bad?
