FFS not AGAIN Car/Parking/Utter Bastards

About 3 weeks ago I parked in my local town and went to my volunteer stint in Charity Shop, returned to car and some rotten shit had driven into me and driven off without leaving details. Because I don’t know who hit me my Insurers record it as ‘At Fault’ and I have to pay £400 excess, OK, I understand this, they can’t just take your word for it.

Car is currently being fixed and I have a Courtesy Car and it’s bloody happened again!! Only just noticed it, a small dent and scraping at the back, it’s low down and I don’t know when it even happened. I’m really stuffed. I’d rather pay for it myself, we’ll I’d rather it had never happened!, because I’ll lose my protected No Claims, 70%! As the Courtesy Car is arranged by the Insurers I don’t know if they’ll let me do that. Now I’ll have to phone the Hirers tomorrow and find out what happens next.

What a mess. Twice in a month, it’s never happened before in 40+ years of driving. Other people’s mistakes and dishonesty are going to cost me so much money. I’m really angry and really pissed off. I was looking forward to getting my car back and it all being over. Sorry for the rant.

That’s definitely worth a rant. I don’t drive but a similar thing happened to a friend. Car parked outside house, a trailer unhitched and wrote the car off. Courtesy car parked outside and a scooter driver smashed into the side and drove off. 3rd time she was actually in another courtesy car and someone drove into the back of her. I’m not sure what happened with her excess etc but when she tried to hire a van to drive decor etc to her wedding a few months later no one would insure her so she couldn’t hire one. None of the accidents were her fault but she’s massively been affected.

I hope wine is in the fridge

Huge sympathy. It happened to me twice too. The second time it wasn’t even me who’d parked the bloody thing! It’s an absolute scandal that insurers record it as at fault when you’re not even in it.

There is definitely wine in the fridge and also some in me!

Thanks for the replies, it makes me feel a little better to know I’m not the only one 😊 although I’m deeply sorry for anyone that gets caught like this, paying for the sins of others!
