Virgin or sky?

hi I’m paying £70 for a basic broadband and tv package been on it for years but never got round to sorting. Virgin are trying to give me a bigger package with sports kid documentaries phone, mobile etc. I just want to pay lower for what I’m getting or does sky have any good deals on at the moment. Anyone have any advice? Is it just sky and virgin to choose from?tia 🍦

Sky TV is better but their internet is shit. If you rely on the super fast broadband, you can't get better than Virgin.

As pp says I have just switched from sky to virgin for the better broadband. Do you need a tv package? Could you manage with freeview and a fire stick then get your broadband separately?

Ladybird69 · 08/08/2022 16:59

Thanks for your answer. I’m only on my iPad and watching bit of telly so do you think sky better

I'd get virgin broadband plus free view and a fire stick.

I have sky and it's okay - I would only say it can be a bit slow if you are using it for gaming other than that I have no issues :)

Ladybird69 · 08/08/2022 17:02

What a fire stick?

BT BB with TV package?

HSKAT · 08/08/2022 17:23

We changed from Sky to Virgin.
Basic package and internet, we also use a firestick

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 08/08/2022 17:27

You need yo complain if Sky broadband is slow, they miraculously fix it if you tell them.

x2boys · 08/08/2022 17:28

I was with sky now with Virgin they are both as shit as each imo .

Arnaquer · 08/08/2022 18:20

Yes neither are great but both have us over a barrel

Ladybird69 · 08/08/2022 18:38

Well I just got virgin bill halved but sky got lots of deals. Oh decisions. If I sign up can I change my mind tomorrow?

We've just switched to Virgin broadband. It's no better than the Vodafone we had before. . Doesn't even reach all the rooms in my house (small 2 bed terrace)

In terms of TV I got rid of sky years ago. Don't miss it at all. We have a firestick now.
