A solo Fri evening in Manchester (Nov) what should I do?

I've agreed to take a pair of teens to a concert in central Manchester in November. We live at least 1.5-2 hours drive from Manchester and I'll need to make myself scarce for a concert's amount of time. I assume it will be cold and rainy.

What options do I have other than taking a book and finding a pub or cinema (or a mixture of both)?

Thanks

I only rarely go out in Manchester these days buti don't think there are many options, really other than the cinema or a pub plus it will be bust being a Friday evening ,maybe a drive to the Trafford Centre?

I’d probably go to the Everyman cinema and settle in to watch a film. Feels a bit more of a treat than a ‘normal’ cinema.

similarly, rather than a pub (likely quite busy / rowdy) I’d settle in for a drink at the midland hotel or the Lowry.

I'd look at Bridgewater Hall - often seats are really cheap for a good quality classical concert so lovely and relax g and likely to finish before the gig?

Book yourself a nice meal at the ivy while you are waiting You can hang around having a nice drink in lovely surroundings and it's a nice place solo

Thanks all! The Everyman, Bridgewater & Ivy are all excellent suggestions.

I love solo dining & theatre/concert/film going so this should be a great treat night. Looking forward to it now.
