How smart is this dress?

Pics attached.

Would you wear it to a wedding, could you wear it as a casual summer dress or is it too much?
Dress looks great on so not interested in opinions on the style of the dress so much as what occasion you think it would suit best.

How long is it?

if knee length, fine for a wedding, if shorter, fine for an occasion like a boat party

Looks perfect for a wedding or party. It would be a bit fussy for me to wear as a casual/work dress though.

Probably a bit too much boob for work (depending on how it looks on) and a bit fancy for casual wear although you could dress it down with trainers and a denim jacket. It would be fine for a wedding or summer party.

It looks like an occasion dress to me so more suitable for a wedding, party, races etc assuming you wear it with nice shoes and accessories

It looks a bit OTT for a BBQ or pub trip

It is harder to make a judgement when it is on a hanger and not on a model though as hard to see how much leg and cleavage it will display and that might chance my opinion!

@ShirleyPhallus

It's quite long about a foot above the ankle.
Only because I'm short mind, but it's definitely a below knee dress.

What a beautiful dress. I would say perfect for a wedding with a smart sandal and a bit of sparkle, also for a garden party with flip flops or on a summer holiday evening out.

As for office: for daytime I'm not so sure. I think the tiers make it too over the top for a casual workspace and too dressy and attention seeking for a corporate one. Even with a blazer the tiers still would clash.

If you wear a smart sandal what are you going to wear on your other foot? Might I suggest a smart wellie?

NotMyselfWithoutCoffee · 08/08/2022 13:30

Thanks for the advice all.

I think the consensus so far is wedding which is perfect because that's what I bought it for. Grin

A bit gutted it's too fancy for casual wear as I really like it, but I guessed as much.

Will have to find excuses to wear it more, say a really posh restaurant? Wink
