Best meal planner app?

I'm after an app that will give me a weeks worth of meals, including shopping lists, but not gourmet or time consuming. Does it exist? We're really busy with work and just life, I'm getting far too many take aways. I just want simple meals that don't take hours, without me having to actually think about anything 😁

I think it would be more helpful for you to set aside an hour today. Write down 7 meals that you and your family really enjoy and easy to do. And work with that.

And throw in some batch cooking so then no need to cook at end of day

The trouble is, I don't have time to batch cook. I just about keep on top of the cleaning and washing during the week after work and I'm not home all weekend. I've never been a good cook, I have a limited repertoire of things I've taught myself and would really like to outsource the thinking.

Do you have children?

Endlesslypatient82 · 07/08/2022 12:25

You don’t have an hour on a day off to do some batch cooking?

Why can't people just answer the question OP has asked without giving sass?

Think most supermarket websites let you go the same as Tesco

The privilege on this site is really annoying, the faux suprise of "you don't have an hour"... people have multitude of reasons why they can't do stuff.

Sure. Mumsnet threads to start for example 😂

KurriKawari · 07/08/2022 12:39

Does it take you an hour to start a mumsnet thread?!

Yes, I have children. And a husband, and we both work. We also try to find an hour or 2 to spend together in the evening before we crash out so yes, I suppose I could find and hour but I don't want to 🤗

Fair enough

I am exactly the same some evenings / weekends - prioritise quality time to myself rather than cooking

and I don’t feel embarrassed to admit that and instead say I’m just too busy!

You don't need an extra hour to batch cook though, you just pick one or two of the meals that you've picked from the Tesco (or wherever) website and double the quantities, and cook two meals worth at the same time. Freeze one lot and a day less you're cooking the following week!

PhoneyM · 07/08/2022 13:23

Eatwell101 website / app does what you need

DarcyDoos · 03/10/2023 14:08

Same! Just came across these guys who are building one by the looks of it. Looks really cool on their website, I think it's like a story mode app where kids get immersed in the cartoon world. They are also building a meal planner/food diary for parents to understand how to give them the correct nutrients. wish we had it now lol

Worth doing their survey so they know what we want and you can win £100 Amazon voucher
