We’re due to fly out of Bristol next weekend and I'm nervous about the queues etc. has anyone flown out recently and is it as bad as it was a couple of months ago?

We flew out of Bristol at the beginning of July, so before most schools had broken up, and it was absolutely heaving. Are you flying Easy Jet? We paid for speedy boarding and it was worth every penny as saved us at least an hour’s queue for the bag drop.

Thanks @Sammysquiz we’re not flying easyJet. Debating just taking hand luggage but I can’t see any complaints about long queues at the moment so also hoping it will be ok!

We flew out a couple of weeks ago a 1300 flight. You check in your hold luggage at a console - plenty of help if your unsure what to do - then line up to give it to the baggage staff to label. There were no queues as such and security was straight forward too. We were really surprised at how smooth it all went. Good luck with your trip.

We flew with Jet2 from Bristol on 24th July (first weekend of school holidays) and it was absolutely fine. It was a 3pm flight on a Sunday (a slight delay) but no queues really, straight through check in, security, and into departure gate. Coming back 3 days ago was also fine, except waiting for the bus for silver zone parking. The queue for that was horrendous. But all in all it was nothing like you read about in the media. All pretty structured and easy. The only queues I saw were passengers queued up for Ryanair who looked like they didn’t have many check in staff.

Thank you everyone. It sounds like it could be less stressful than I thought!
