Why can't I feel happy for my friends?

When I see/hear off friends of mine going away or doing something fun and exciting, my instant feeling is that of jealousy, I hate this about me! I wish this wasn't the case, but I don't know what to do to stop the feeling. I know it's completely pathetic. I just want to shift my mentality from jealousy to happiness. How can I do this?

The feeling is there for a reason. What is it you want from your life that you haven’t currently got?

Are you happy with your own life? It sounds like you are not. So don't spend time being envious of o think others spend it on putting right what is wrong/missing in yours

I’m like this too and it’s because I’m not happy about my own life.

I'm the same and again, as previous posters have said, I'm unhappy with my own life. I feel jealous that others are going away on nice holidays but I can't afford to right now.

Is there anything you can change about your life?
