I need to get a new suitcase, with wheels, I don't have so much money to spend but don't want to buy something super cheap that is going to break after a couple of trips.

Suggestions please.

What's your budget OP?

I managed to get some from tkmaxx this year for £70 each for the super big hard shell ones, which I thought was a fairly good price.

Nordicmom · 06/08/2022 19:55

We have generic looking dark Samsonites so they don’t get unwanted attention but also a few silver metal ones from Rimowa for not flying and a more expensive hand luggage I can keep an eye on . I have only had one suitcase break I think the whole corner with a wheel came off but luckily while I was moving it in a hotel so then just bought a new one before flying back .

As someone who used to work in a suitcase shop I would strongly suggest buying soft suitcases instead of the hard shell ones. Lost count of the number of irate customers who would return months later with their hard shell suitcase corners cracked wanting us to deal with the problem. We weren't liable for the damage - compensation has to be claimed with the airport at the time of damage. Just avoid the whole issue and buy a soft shell suitcase!

PurpleDaisies · 06/08/2022 19:57

Tk maxx

AudTheDeepMinded · 06/08/2022 19:58

TK MAXX, and also see lots in charity shops for super cheap deals.

dementedpixie · 06/08/2022 19:59

Hard shell ones are a pain. We have the World Lightest brand cases and they have lasted several years now. Some from Matalan I think. Might sell them in argos too

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 06/08/2022 20:00

I've got a Carlton hard one that I've had for about 20 years. Not sure if that's helpful.

Thanks, they are really cheap compared to everywhere else at the moment!

Matalan, TK Maxx, Primark. I bought an IT case from primark years ago and it's still in great condition.

Tripp luggage
had mine 7 years and they are still going strong and gave them to my niece as she was going away .

So I bought a new set in Feb and at the airport the wheel broke only had it 2 days

I managed to fix it and i emailed them the photos and receipt and they sent a new suitcase to my hotel in Tenerife 😂

amazing customer service

Yabado · 06/08/2022 20:13
