18 weeks pregnant, possible food poisoning

I can’t get hold of my GP until Monday and thought I’d see if you guys had any ideas. I’m 18 weeks pregnant, had the usual first trimester sickness but was coming out of it. Then Monday this week I was really sick, violent vomiting. Since then I’ve been on and off terrible. Sometimes the sickness doesn’t kick in until the afternoon then I’m vomiting for the rest of the day. Sometimes I’m woken up with it in the middle of the night. So my questions are. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be if it comes and goes like that? Could it be morning sickness back again and much worse? Any suggestions of what could help (hard I know)? And how worrying is it given I’m pregnant? I’m particularly concerned about it maybe being listeria or similar. Any ideas most appreciated.

How do you feel in yourself other than sick? Any pains anywhere? I wouldn't be too worried as long as you're managing to sip water little and often. Shouldn't have an impact on baby, will just be you feeling rubbish unfortunately. Ice lollies etc will also help keep you hydratedSmile could well be a brief recurrence of pregnancy sickness but there are also some savage vomiting bugs doing the rounds currently. If it goes on longer than another week you can always check in with your midwife.

No real pain and I feel ok in myself. I’m hoping it’s just a bug running it’s course. Thanks for the reply
