Make your own bubble tea kit. Bubble panda is a good brand!

I have just finished putting together a box of bits for dgd.
she asked for a giant Squishmallow. Mum has got that.
So… tie dye kit and t shirt.
….money box….they can earn garden money by picking up palm leaves
…..canvases for her paintings
…..water colours in tubes
….water colour paper
….packs of cards….so she can play Patience
….earring adapters from Claire’s so she can buy earrings for pierced ears
….Pom Pom earrings
…..pack of fruity earrings
……compact mirror
…..pop socket for her phone ( very old and no sim card )
…..caddy for her earrings.

I had wondered about a Slackline for the garden, Pin/ string art, mermaid tail blanket and colour changing Converse. But settled for box of bits, altogether I think it came to £50.

Primark gift voucher!

What does she like doing?

I know it initially feels depressing but I do think kids of that age and upwards generally would prefer money or vouchers so that's what I get them now. It saves a lot of effort and I think at 11 or so they find the independence of having their own gift card to spend quite exciting and usually get an afternoon out out of it to spend them too. Ultimately they're likely to have told their parents any specific things they really want and so will presumably get those anyway.

I do mourn shopping for cute kids presents, definitely, but a gift is for the recipient not for me and unless you already know the child well enough to know exactly what they like or asked for then you are just guessing. I usually wrap up a few low value bits with a gift card and put it in a gift box - chocolate or sweets, a few bath bits such as fun face masks, bath bombs, cute stationery etc.

i think it depends what sort of thing she's into.....I have 2 goddaughters who are around that age or just passed it......one would like anything pink / sparkly / sequined (nail varnish, earrings, a hand bag was her last birthday list request) and the other is very outdoorsy and would want hoodies, leggings, swim club kit etc.
