I've got to have a root canal on a molar.

It'll be NHS treatment, luckily.

I know the root canal itself comes under band 2.

The filling/cap thing us that still band 2 or jump in to band 3.

If it does, am I able to pay off the remaining fee in installments?
I've paid the band1/2 fee already.

Thanks

whole lot will be band 3 as they will crown tooth after the root canal...some can be filled if so it wont be band 3 but band 2....you lucky you got it on nhs...!!

I'm obviously a bit thick as well as I don't really understand the question.

I had root canal on my molar and paid band 2 I don't understand what you mean by cap thing.

Ah ears explains. Mine was just filled.

Thanks.

Eek band 3, hope I can pay in installments then 😖.

My dentist is good, can get an appointment within 7 days usually.
Except half term holidays.

ooh where is your dentist...!!!....its a one year wait to just get registered here for the good ones then another 3 or 4 months for the appointment...i end up going abroad or paying....

A rootfilling is band 2 and if a normal filling is put on top it will stay a band 2. If a crown is put on top the whole treatment will become a band 3. What many dentists do is a rootfilling with a filling which is band 2 and then put a crown on in 6 months later which is band 3

If you've already paid band 2, they will reduce the cost by that amount. You only ever pay once for a particular course of treatment. I had issues with a tooth and had 2 years' of back and forth. Paid band 2 and that was it.

I had to get mine done in the hospital and didn't have to pay anything......

I have just left a gap though as it is at the back and not noticeable.
