Gift ideas for a new mum

What would make a really useful, helpful, thoughtful gift for a new mum?

A really good thermal coffee cup (I was given the bodem travel press and it is amazing) and some letterbox brownies

Second letterbox brownies. Or Cook meals. If she’s BF then a top or dress? From somewhere like Juno Jacks.

I got my friend a cleaner for 4 weeks postpartum as a one off deep clean, she loved it!

I am a new Mum (3 weeks in)! I would definitely recommend food-based gifts. On our second day at home, a neighbour brought around a dominos pizza and it was super kind and well received! If you’re close by and can take home cooked meals/cookies etc, that’s always lovely to receive. Otherwise, vouchers for deliveroo/justeat/cook ready meals.

Please not flowers. I know this is ungrateful but I got loads when dd was born and honestly hated having more stuff to keep alive than just me and my baby!!

Things that were useful which I appreciated (and were about me not the baby which is what I think you're asking)

• meals
• vouchers for cook
• "vouchers" from friends to come and put a wash on / load dishwasher / watch baby for an hour so I could have a bath (some people would hate this though)
• nice bath products (mindful of ingredients that are sensitive)
• chocolate. In large quantities.
• soft loungewear
