Hi everyone. Is there any packet sauce/soup you can use for vol au vent mix instead of having to use flour etc. want to make them for kids but don’t have much time thanks

Tinned mushroom or chicken soup? Not sure it would be nice though...

Just make a seasoned white sauce and add chopped chicken , or tuna , or mushrooms my mum always used to use toast toppers in them and they were lush!

It's as quick as a packet. Just do the all in one method in the microwave takes 2 mins

Condensed tinned mushroom or chicken soup is your friend here!

Cream, thickened a little with cornflour maybe? Fry some garlic first and then add the cream and cornflour.

We just fill ours with egg or tuba mayo. So simple and no faffing about making sauces.

You want Campbell's condensed soup for this - chicken or mushroom flavour.

That's a good idea - those pots of sandwich filling in the supermarket would be perfect if you don't want to make up your own. They probably also have things like chicken and bacon.

It's totally dependent on what you want to serve in them and if you want to eat them hot or cold. If you are serving cold then things like mayonnaise, sour cream or cream cheese can be used (using herbs or spices to add flavour) you could even fill with guacamole, salsa, sour cream and top with fajita spiced chicken for a Mexican twist on a vol au vent. Any filling with cheese could have a chutney or relish added.

Thanks everyone for replies. I used the condensed chicken with white wine soup and condensed mushroom soup. Tasted absolutely gorgeous would definitely recommend
