How long did you use your maternity exemption certificate for?

I need to get a prescription today and my maternity exemption certificate expires in a few weeks.
I know I'm still allowed to use it but the prescription isn't baby related so I feel a bit cheeky.

Is that daft? How long did you use yours for?

As long as possible! With all 3 DC I deliberately timed a dentist appointment just before it ran out!

Does it need to be baby related? I just got a prescription and the lady asked if I was on maternity leave so therefore exempt.

It doesn't need to be but I still feel cheeky that it's not. I know it sounds silly!

Just use it! Unless you continually have babies, you'll not have it for a lot longer than it is valid for. I seem to remember getting a crown on my tooth before mine ran out. And I don't regret a thing (apart from eating too much sugar, obviously).

DP went and got it for me in the end as he was going out anyway. The pharmacist asked him what exemption I had and he said 'pregnancy'. DD is almost 1 Grin
