Discipline vs motivation

Does anyone have any tips or advice on how to be disciplined with good habits? I’m aware motivation is not a good way of trying to stick to things but I don’t really know how to make myself be disciplined.

Pre-DC I was very good with exercise, which at the time was easy enough because I really enjoyed it. But since DC, I feel permanently tired. Sometimes I’m busy and that feels like an acceptable excuse but if I’m honest, I waste a lot of time reading shit on social media/internet. And then before i know it, I’ve convinced myself I don’t have time for it. I’m a single mum if that’s relevant so harder to get time to myself but I have family close by so don’t have the excuse of no childcare. Running and cycling is what I enjoy, rather than home workouts.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Not just for exercise, but any good habits.

Are you in a running club? I find being in a club makes it so much easier. The motivation is the chatting rather than the running for me, then before I know it the miles have slipped by. I find running by myself hard work unless I'm already in that routine.
