Oddly I’ve just started watching at home with the braithwrights, and now can see it all from the mums perspective

I don't know the show, but I was helping adult DS with something that meant I needed to log in to email last night.

I'd got one from the Premium Bond people saying "you're a winner". My initial instinct was to check how much straight away, but I stopped myself on the basis that if it was a big one, I'd decide when/if to tell him on my own terms, so it makes sense to me.

It was £25 😆

I loved watching this when it first aired. Where are you watching it now?

I always wanted to be a teacher like miss Honey from Matilda, now I teach secondary school children I'm coming round to the Trunches way of thinking 😂

Thanks, OP - I've wanted to watch this again for years!

JonSnowedUnder · 04/08/2022 17:06

Yep, just like Mrs Doubtfire. Totally flipped my thinking watching it as an adult. I thought the mother was so awful when I watched it as a child but watching it last year I was firmly on her side, I was also getting annoyed that the father was destroying her chance with pierce brosnan!

Not quite the same but I read Wuthering Heights as a teenager and thought it was about passion. Read it again a few years ago and it seems to be more about the dangers of lax parenting. 😁

Then there is the dance instructor preying on a 16 year old girl in Dirty Dancing...
