London for day in 30 degrees?

Hi,
Planning on taking my older 2 DD (10 and 13) down to London for the day on the train next wednesday. Just had a look and forecast 30 degrees.

Would this be awful?? I live in countryside, not far from coast. So 30 degrees for us is ok really.

Go on the Uber boat!

Public transport will be very hot, but if you are inside public buildings they are usually cooler - Somerset House was very cool during the last hot spell!
You could also try covered markets eg Covent Garden, Spitalfields, or down by the river - maybe book a speedboat trip on the Thames!
Get an early train as it doesn't normally get too hot till about 12.

Thanks for tips - early train not possible as its a fortune to travel Peak!!

the girls want to do London Dungeons plus maybe open top bus/river cruise and then a general wander... Covent garden, Leicester square etc..

the last heatwave was a lot hotter than 30 though wasn't it, must have been hard work in cities in 38/40!

What are they normally like walking long distances & queuing in the heat ? If they're ok then your plans sound fine. If they get stressed then I would plan something different.

We walk a lot, so that's no issue. Queuing? I guess thats part and parcel of some attractions. The Dungeons you book a time slot, so hopefully wouldn't be too bad. They won't be stressed, it will be a novelty to just be out with me and not having the toddler tagging along!
