Is there a weird stomach bug going round?

I’ve been feeling extremely nauseous for the last 3 days and today have had to sit on the loo about 20 times 😳 It’s rendered me useless which isn’t great when we have a 1.5y/o daughter. We’re ttc but im only 5dpo so I don’t think it’s that.

It was in the news today that an upset stomach was a Covid symptom for this current strain!

blebbleb · 03/08/2022 20:20

I've been so sick for the last couple of days too. I rarely get stomach upsets either. I'm sure everyone will say it's covid! I took a test and it's not.

gingerninja85 · 03/08/2022 20:29

@Ally256 Oh wow I hadn’t seen that. Better get a test done. Thank you

@blebbleb aww sorry to hear you’re feeling rubbish too. How long have you been feeling bad for?

Since last night. I haven't been sick since about 2am but still feeling quite woozy. Been mostly bed bound up until now!

Dartmoorcheffy · 03/08/2022 20:34

I had this last week. Terrible stomach pains and rumbling, then wind like I've never had before and finally needing the loo every few minutes. Covid test was negative but DP was positive the previous week so not sure what it was. Still feeling a bit urghh.

gingerninja85 · 03/08/2022 20:58

@Dartmoorcheffy Glad you got through the worst of it. I’m silently hoping it’s symptoms of a bug rather than super early morning sickness as I’m sure that would mean I was in for a rough ride 🤦‍♀️

Swept through my school, pupils and staff in July. Very unpleasant, pain, d&v, usually 48-72 hours. I felt right grotty.

kos88 · 03/08/2022 21:08

My daughter had this starting Sunday night and I’ve been feeling rough for a couple of days but it’s properly hit me just tonight. Hoping it won’t be bad for too long.

GordonsAlive85 · 03/08/2022 21:09

I had this last week, covid tests were consistently negative. 10 days later and I am still struggling to regulate my body temperature

ScaredScaredScare · 03/08/2022 21:12

I have had this since Friday/Saturday. I think the body temp thing started before the runs. The initial stomach pain was horrific. I am only just starting to feel a bit more with it this afternoon. Have been eating bland food and resting when I can. It's awful.

cheninblanc · 03/08/2022 21:14

My dd had covid then 5 days after testing negative had a stomach bug that lasted a week, sickness and upset tummy. Poor girl was really run down

FramptonRose · 03/08/2022 21:14

My DH had this and tested positive for COVID last week and had horrendous night sweats, as a pp said they seem to be the symptoms for the current strain doing the rounds.

kos88 · 03/08/2022 21:39

I’ve been hot for a few days and my partner had sweats today too. I have had vivid at the beginning of July so don’t think it’s that.

Bloops · 03/08/2022 22:19

100% check for Covid. I had it recently and this was one of the main symtoms

Velvetbee · 03/08/2022 22:33

Oo, I have that. Horrendous wind, on and off the loo, hot flushes, feeling very wobbly. Testing negative though.

Mochacino · 03/08/2022 23:12

Yep there certainly is a bug going about. Human and canines in our house been affected at different times over the last 3 weeks.

Numbat2022 · 03/08/2022 23:19

We've just had it. 72 very unpleasant hours, just regained my appetite this evening after eating only occasional crisps since Sunday. My stomach did the most ridiculous gurgles if I attempted anything else. Fever went yesterday, thankfully as that was horrible. Not Covid.

tillyandmilly · 03/08/2022 23:23

Yep had it a week ago terrible stomach cramps nausea, feeling hot etc - getting better but stomach still bubbly!

Realitea · 03/08/2022 23:29

I had two ‘episodes’ of really dodgy stomach and felt really washed out the next day. I didn’t think to test for covid but my ds did and he was positive! He only had night sweats and felt tired.

Ozgirl75 · 03/08/2022 23:44

My FIL had to e most terrible upset stomach recently - said he was on the loo multiple times a day, couldn’t eat anything for 5 days, he’d be woken in the night needing to go etc. took him two full weeks to recover and he still felt wobbly.
Im in Australia and I saw a health alert for adenovirus and that matched all the symptoms, worse and more long lived than Noro. So many from the Southern Hemisphere have visited the north that I assume we’ve spread it over there to you.

Carrieonmywaywardsun · 03/08/2022 23:58

It's definitely going around, and quickly too. I saw a friend with the bug and within 12 hours I was terribly ill with it. DH and DD got it within 24 hours of me getting it

AIBAnxious · 04/08/2022 02:06

My family have had something similar. Nausea (me) and very mild diarrhea (all of us). It's mild, but been going on nearly 2 weeks now! When will it end??

Same here but covid tests negative so far.

gingerninja85 · 04/08/2022 07:54

Nice (and not nice) to know I’m not alone in this. Thought I was feeling better last night and this morning I’ve already had to run to the toilet three times in the space of half an hour 😭 I’ve tested for covid, which came back negative. I wonder how effective the tests are when you don’t have any nose or throat symptoms though 🤷‍♀️

wishing you all a speedy recovery. I can’t shake the feeling that this is related to a potential pregnancy. I hope not (in the sense that it probably means I’m in for a rough ride if it is)
