Has anyone been here? If so, how much did you spend? It would just be me and DH. Considering going to Mexico after also.

Thanks in advance ☺️

Yes, I’ve been with my DD in 2019. It was AMAZING! Total cost about £10k, so not a cheap option but it was to celebrate two significant birthdays so I had saved for it.
We are animal and nature obsessed so it was right up our street. I would recommend a cruise around the islands as you see so much more as all the islands are very different and the staff on the boats are unbelievably knowledgable! The guides have to complete annual tests to show their knowledge is both comprehensive and up to date.
The highlights are all the animals you expect to see but there are so few tourists that you are often the only people around and the animals are truely wild! And the landscapes… breathtaking! Walking across old lava fields that sound like you are walking across bone china, red sand,

Tortoises, penguins, boobies, sea and land lizards, seals (with feeding babies right up close) turtles, fish, fish fish, whales, birds, birds and even more birds! And even flamingos in a black lava field. And they have NO fear of humans so you get really close. In fact I actually had to swim AWAY from turtles and penguins as they were closer than 1 meter. My DD said I just couldn’t stop grinning when we swam with wild penguins - totally not planned as an excursion, simply snorkelling near where they hang out. They came to check us out!

Ill stop there, but it’s such an amazing place and unique and brilliant and I’m going back when I win the lottery!!! PM me if you need anything else.

@Shelledwarrior this sounds amazing!! Thank you so much for such a detailed response, it's been really helpful. £10k was around about what we were thinking.

Did you use a travel agent to help you plan your trip?

This is my dream trip. I despairingly want to go. Can you tell us more about what boat you booked and through whom?
