Booking old with a two year old

Hi,

I am looking for book a hotel for two adults and a two year old. Whenever I add the two year old to the booking either the hotels have no availability or double in price.

Can I just book a double room and bring the bed we use for the two year old when camping? Is that allowed? The rooms are big enough.

Thanks!

Ring them? Will 2yo go in a cot or need a bed?

You need a hotel with Family rooms.

Is it adding the 2yo as an adult? I always just brought DSs travel bed and it was fine

I really hate this. It's better to book with the hotel directly to be sure. But it's daft that booking sites make you put the child's age in and then add a separate room - like yeah, my 3 year old will be totally fine with her own hotel room!
She sleeps in my bed when we're away anyway so I only need a double, and am happy to pay extra for her breakfast. Hotels are usually happy to accommodate if I book directly.

Just put them in as less than 2 - and bring the bed.
