“What if”….thread for the professionals

I want to start a thread where people can ask professionals random and weird ‘what if’ questions for them to answer.

Mine is slightly grim but inspired by a recent media story where a mum claims she didn’t realise social workers would remove her baby in the hospital after she gave birth (yes yes I know it’s extremely unlikely she didn’t know this would happen but just go with it).

What if a woman was in a situation whereby she was going to have her baby removed from birth. What if she went abroad at 8.5 months, had the baby abroad and stayed there. Would she be arrested? Or if she had the baby at home and then went into hiding? And does this ever happen??

Any more for any more?

I watched the documentary on baby Leiland last night and I think it's incredibly disrespectful to start a "chat" about it.
Have some humanity.

Oh FGS don’t be so ridiculous. I didn’t name anyone, you just did. It’s got nothing to do with that - just be never speak of social work again because of these Incidents?

Also there’s threads on here about that case discussing details, discussing doubts about various peoples stories and casting quite blunt stereotypes on the whole thing. Go on those threads if you want to talk about disrespect

Well I don't see many people wanting to respond to you so what does that tell you?
Actually no one is...

I think it's a great idea for a thread, as long as people keep in mind that anyone can claim to be a professional. Most of us have had questions about the inner workings of various institutions and public bodies - social work, child safeguarding, prisons etc - it will be great to have a forum for those with knowledge to answer them.
