Going back to work after 15 years of being a SAHP, nerve racking and exciting, tell me what I need!!

After 15 years of being a SAHM I’ve managed to get a job within a big charity working with families, it’s my dream job I’m still pinching myself that they picked me.

I have however become a bit of a slob, we have 3 DC, horses, dogs etc and I’ve spent so long with 0 money to spend on myself and not needing to make much of effort for anyone that cares. (DH is far too polite to comment!!) I really want to make this opportunity a self care fresh start as well as a financial one.

Dress code seems to be very casual, jeans trainers etc. We are definitely not in a position for me to be able to go out and buy myself an entire new wardrobe but I’d love to start with a few new bits just so that I can walk in the 1st few days feeling confident and be taken seriously.

Ive wrote myself a little list, new jeans, a nice linen style shirt I’ve also added things like a flask/water bottle as I don’t have one that isn’t pink and hasn’t spent most of its life in a child’s tray at school!! I’d like a pair of the chunky black sandals that look smart as well as a bit cool (M&S, not DM’s I’m definitely not getting ahead of myself)

im also thinking about what I will need in a bag that isn’t baby wipes or poo bags..

Help...

Maybe a blazer? Very versatile item.

For the bag, an umbrella, compact, lip balm or gloss, phone, purse including some cash in case they are still doing cash collections for leaving gifts etc, tampons/pads if you use them, sunglasses/glasses, tissues, nail file, foldaway shopping bag.
Same sort of stuff for a day out really!
