Help! It is my brother's birthday on Saturday. I've been struggling to think of anything to get him for his birthday. he will be 62, doesn't have any hobbies has enough clothes and is a bit set in his ways. He doesn't drink at the moment. We get on OK but are not close. Any ideas? thanks.

Day out somewhere you went as a child?

ODFOx · 03/08/2022 15:29

In the last couple of years I have sent my brothers Pies by post, bedding, vouchers for an interest of theirs, tickets for a race day, gardening bits, a photo of their niblings for their desk.
Also various booze gifts, potatoes k scratching subscription, box of different burgers for the freezer.
I have brothers with different interests but meat and hobbies seems to be a recurring theme. Hope this is useful even if you take the booze out.

Hamper? This is what I get my similar brother. Tart up a shallow box and fill with decent marmalade, nuts, biscuits, crackers, cheese, coffee etc and cover with cellophane. My brother always likes it or so he says...

Sponsor a donkey/dog/tiger, along with a toy version of the same?

Coffee subscription? Fudge?

Coffee! that's an idea, he likes the coffee we get from H.R. HIggins, so that would work. Otherwise I think a cinema ticket gift card. I can't just bung some money in his card as it is my birthday later this month and he would just put it back into circulation for me.
