Test results - doctors receptionist

Hi, I had some biopsies taken just under two weeks ago (cancer not suspected). I called the doctors to see if my results were back and they’ve put a note on there for the doctor to call me, does this mean they’ve found something or could it still all be clear? The receptionist said she couldn’t understand the “doctor jargon” so couldn’t tell me the results. TIA

A receptionist isnt normally qualified to give you test results. Could still be all clear, just means she can't tell you as she doesnt know :)

Former GP receptionist here.
She’s not a clinician and can’t interpret the results. She can pass on what the GP has said once they have seen and interpreted the results. But she can’t and shouldn’t do it without GP input.
Don’t panic.
Good luck! 💐

There was a mix up and the results aren’t actually in, I called the department today and was told it could take up to 8 weeks for biopsy results at the moment. I can’t believe it 8 weeks. That’s crazy. Our NHS is clearly seriously struggling 😔.

Histology has always taken 6-8 weeks, in my local area anyway, for non cancer samples. I hope you hear soon.

Ah I didn’t know this. It’s not a problem really as I know it isn’t urgent but I just want some answers for why I’ve been feeling so awful and 8 weeks feels like so long 😩. Never mind 3 down 5 to go.
