If you're a freelance copywriter/editor, can I ask you a question?

How do you work out the amount of time a job will take? I've been asked to edit some web copy. They've shown me the 'pages' and some of the text they want sharpening/smoothing, but it's not strictly the sort of work I do nowdays, so I don't know if there's a metric? I have my daily rate etc, but it's more about whether there is a metric/expectations etc.

Depending on the quality of the source, about 800-1000 words per hour is quite standard
