Would you share a roll on with teen DS?

I'm packing for a short trip with 18yo DS.

We need to travel very light. We'll be sharing a tent so logistically can share toiletries. So, would you share a roll on deodorant? What about a razor? I'll draw the line at toothbrushes....

Any tips?

I wouldn't share a roll-on with anyone, it's something that's for my personal use only.

abblie · 02/08/2022 13:07

Yes for roll on and no for razor (incase of slight nip and blood transfer etc) and toothbrush 😂 but I'm quite relaxed like that

Anothernamechangeplease · 02/08/2022 13:08

No,I wouldn't share any of those things with anyone!

titchy · 02/08/2022 13:14

Deodorant yes, razor - on holiday for a few days - does not compute! Neither of you needs a razor!

dementedpixie · 02/08/2022 13:14

No. I'd take travel sized toiletries but separate for each person. You can share toothpaste!

If I'm swimming my legs need doing everyday. If I want properly smooth legs to go out in the eveing they need doing twice a day!

DS will shave probably once in 4 days.

This is why I love Mumsnet, it gives me a massive insight into how other people think and live.

To the non sharers it's a plastic ball that has touched his skin and your skin. Do you not touch your children's skin?

The girls in our house all share razor's. Husband hasn't shaved for 8 years.

BordoisAgain · 02/08/2022 13:27

Personally I don't think a roll on deodorant and razor tale up enough space that you would need to share.

Of course I do, but I don't tend to go poking round in my dd's armpit!Grin

samebutdifferentt · 02/08/2022 13:37

Take a spray deodorant?

theclangersarecoming · 02/08/2022 13:39

No! Everyone has specific bacteria in their armpit that differs from person to person. I wouldn’t share a roll-on with someone else.

KarlWrenbury · 02/08/2022 13:40

Think of potentially spreading scabies. Then buy another st the airport

Unless you like being hairy you do

dolphinsarentcommon · 02/08/2022 13:42

Buy a travel size spray. There'll be plenty for 2 for a short trip.

Toosadtocomprehend · 02/08/2022 13:46

Roll on yes ...cannot think why not.
Razor and toothbrush no !

confusedofengland · 02/08/2022 13:46

Unless you are going somewhere very remote without shops, you can probably buy most toiletries there? We often buy our toiletries at our destination.

lovelilies · 02/08/2022 13:46

I've shared with DD but not sure if I would a boy Blush

neshtastic · 02/08/2022 13:47

How much space does a deodorant and a razor take up ffs.

megletthesecond · 02/08/2022 13:51

No way.

TooGood2BeFalse · 02/08/2022 13:53

Would your son mind sharing?

SunshineAndFizz · 02/08/2022 13:57

There's really no need to share these things. Miniatures and disposable razors take up minimum space.

BSQ44 · 02/08/2022 13:57

I would in an unplanned way e.g. one of us forgot, but probably wouldn’t plan to share the roll on and would either pack 2 or a spray. I realise this is illogical.

girlmom21 · 02/08/2022 13:57

I'm team 'how much space to these things take up?'
If you're worried about space just buy disposable razors when you get there.

Darlissima · 02/08/2022 14:01

Roll-on wouldn’t bother me but might bother teen DS.

Can’t imagine anywhere you’d go where you’d both not be able to pack a second razor and yet need a razor. Climbing Everest? Leave the razor at home. Weekend away with carry-on bag only? You’ve got room for two. Actually this probably goes for the deodorant as well.

It's with her son not a stranger from the hostel, wouldn't she know if he had scabies?
