Chewing gum stuck in car!

How do I clean this?

I trod in chewing gum while getting into the car and it's now all over the door sill, the brake and accelerator pedals and rubbed into the floor mat.

I shoved some tissues onto the main blob to try and absorb it and prevent it spreading during the drive home, but there's still plenty to clear up.

Any tips for something that will strip out the gum without wrecking the finish on the car?

Can you try WD40? That gets out pretty much everything.

Ice cubes/bag of peas in a plastic bag put on top? Should make it go hard enough to chip/scrape off.

peanut butter is supposed to work if you get gum in hair - but I would think that will make your particular problem a whole lot worse - so perhaps don’t!!

As @Alphabet1spaghetti2 says, you need to freeze it.

I thought the same, but my worry is that something that gets out pretty much everything might also get out the finishes used in the car. Ditto Lakeland Sticky Stuff Remover.

Ice cubes won't do any harm. I'll try those.
