I was wondering the same thing! I thought I had another month or so before my fear would be raised again :(

limitededitionbarbie · 01/08/2022 23:29

That's two now I have seen that are literally massive. God knows what they will be like come autumn

Presumably you will deal with these over the web?

Glittersparkle76 · 01/08/2022 23:33

I've wondered this too!,we've had a few in the house but not like that big bugger in your house!,I can feel my anxiety levels raising already!,Lord have mercy!!

snowflake29 · 01/08/2022 23:39

Two nights in a row we've had the most massive spiders I've ever seen!! Both in our bedroom 😩

I wasn't expecting them for another month or so either!

Squiff70 · 01/08/2022 23:40

We haven't had any of those big fuckers yet (house spiders) but have had LOADS of the grass spiders (smaller bodies with long, thing, spindly legs) including dozens of babies in the house - often found dead in webs before we even knew they were there!

BloodyCamping · 01/08/2022 23:52

Spiders moved into my house today also.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 01/08/2022 23:56

I woke up last night with a huge one on my face 😔

They sound like cellar spiders. Let them
Ones in as they kill the big fuckers

Jesus fucking Christ. Are you ok? I wouldn't be. As much as I don't want to know what happened!

@BullshitHunter - that's really cheered me up 😂

KenAdams · 02/08/2022 00:27

I came out of the living room last night and HEARD one run past. That's how big it was. Luckily the dog heard it too and it was gone but dear God they are huge.

limitededitionbarbie · 02/08/2022 00:29

Yes! I have heard one before too!

It was taken out and put on the garden. Back the next night I heard the same noise and it was back.

Taken out again and then it was on my handbag the next day. Fucking vile. Went on my
Bag to see the damage - it was money only in those days and it ran up my arm

Left the £50 on there for days.

Well, I suppose it's because of global warming. Summer hits on may June now. And it's drier than ever. Humid too.

I didn't sleep much after it, that's all I'll say

And what's the point in having bloody cats! Aren't they supposed to catch the things !

That is probably the cruellest post I have ever read - and I am only half joking! Do you know how many of us arachnophobes you have just caused to have either sleepless nights watching out for them, or nightmares about them doing just that to us? Please go and hang your head in shame 🤬😝

Mimi1980 · 02/08/2022 01:59

I shouldn't have read this post, now I'm thinking to get out of bed and move it to the middle of the room, away from the walls.

I remember being 9 months pregnant and holding my urine in for over 2 hours , whilst this little baby spider was sleeping at the top of the door, was too scared to walk under it, and this was whilst finding random objects to throw at my wall, to try and move it.🤣🤣

eurochick · 02/08/2022 02:05

We had two massive spiders in the house yesterday. This is going to a long and stressful end to summer.

birdling · 02/08/2022 07:25

One of those ran across my bed last night. I'd heard something moving slightly under the bed and thought it was one of the cats. I was confused when I couldn't find one.
Once I saw the spider, I realised what the noises had been.
Luckily, spiders don't bother me.

TheLoftHatch · 02/08/2022 08:13

There's this stuff on Amazon - Pest Shield - that I used last year and didn't see a single spider. You spray it on skirting boards/entry points around the house about every 4-6 weeks and it seems to keep sightings down! My aunt lives in an old house with loads of cracks and funky skirting boards and she swears by it.
