Colposcopy (3rd opinion)

So I went in today for my 3rd opinion. What they did say is that the norm is to take a biopsy sample per quadrant (if lesions are found), and that, two quadrants (or more) is seen as more severe than just one. Is this what you've been explained before? The Dr also draw a diagram, something the nurse didn't do the first time.

What did you want the 3rd opinion on? What did your smear results say? It seems you don't want them to take a biopsy? It's not clear what you are seeking.

I have had 5 colposcopys, 3 LLETZ treatments for changes.

It's a long story. But I had a colposcopy in May and a biopsy taken in the first quadrant. Then I went to visit family across the pond and saw an oncologist (to put my DM at ease) she mentioned the worst was between 5-6 (so second quadrant) and took a biopsy that came back as severe rather than mild changes. So I came back from my holiday and asked to get a third opinion (which is what happened today) and they ultimately acknowledged that it was was worse than they originally said because there are cell changes in both quadrants and took a sample from the second quadrant. If said sample came back as severe, rather than "waiting out" they'd definitely do a LLETZ as it's in two quadrants rather than just one.

Personally in your shoes, get on with the LLETZ and get it over and done with. You don't want any changes left on your cervix. Get them removed.

Yes there can be more longer term implications such as cervical insufficiency but this can be solved with a stitch when pregnant. It is better to have that than cervical cancer. Trust me!
