It's just a PCR within 72 hours of travel, correct?

Is there any further testing at the airport on arrival? We had this in Cyprus when we went over Easter.

15 year old dd has only had one jab, she missed the second one at school and we've been meaning for ages to get the second dose. The holiday has crept up really quickly and we're travelling on 15th August so missed the boat now to be within the 2 week period.

We're going to Mallorca tomorrow!
DD12 just got her 2nd dose, but like your DD not in enough time. She'll have a antigen test tomorrow morning (that I ordered online to do at home) and will fill in the travel form that has to be filled in by non-fully vaxed visitors.
That's all you need: either antigen (LFT) test within 24 hours of departure or PCR within 72 hours, plus the form.

The vax man said that they often don't check... just wave your barcodes around and they're not bothered! However, better safe than sorry 😊

It's LFT or PCR for Spain

Thanks.

@ParanoidGynodroid is the antigen the blood test one?

Or maybe I’m getting mixed up with the antibody test? Are both LFT and PCR nasal swabs? Or throat too? Is one preferable over the other?

Both swabs but typically antigen are cheaper

dementedpixie · 01/08/2022 19:53

Antigen = LFT
Antigen is faster and cheaper

bendmeoverbackwards · 01/08/2022 23:44

Great thanks, and you can do them at home?

I went to Mallorca 2 weeks ago from Uk and am counted as not fully vaccinated as I had some of my vaccines abroad.

I ordered a lft online and had it delivered. Then I took this on the morning of my flight. Has to be within 24 hours. You take a photo of the test and they email you a certificate. Then you fill in the Spanish form and it generates a QR code. Whole process took about 30 min and test cost around £15.

they checked everyones QR codes at Palma airport.

You can order online for next day delivery, then do them at home. Results are usually quick, but a word of warning... the company we used bragged about "results always within one hour"...

We did DDs test last night at 9pm and the certificate didn't arrive! I panicked all night then phoned first thing this morning at 8am, and was told that because she's a minor her test had to be verified by someone or other who only worked between 8 and 6, so it would be there soon. It came at 9am, which was fine, but if we were going earlier and depending on one hour window we may not have got it in time.

In short, do it in the daytime!

And then fill in Spanish non-vaxed visitors form when you get your certificate.

Yea at home supervised via video assuming nothing has changed

or go to in person clinic . I used in person clinic for the times I travelled because I couldn’t be doing with the stress of things going wrong online or before that when it was the postal ones . Look at the reviews online before you pick a company no see if others have had issues

It's not necessary to video it now; just take photo of result with passport.😊
