Happy Yorkshire Day

I have not seen this already so happy Yorkshire Day everyone.

I was born and raised in Yorkshire (no longer live there) and I only heard of this Yorkshire day last year. Has it always been a thing? 🤣 maybe my small town in WY didn’t get the memo

I’m in Lancashire now after years down south, but still on wrong side of Pennines. But I went home to wharfedale for first time in a few years over weekend. By ‘heck it was stunning ..I nearly cried with how beautiful it was dropping down into the dale ….gods own country definitely.

It's been around since the 70s when they changed the counties, lopped of bits of Yorkshire to Humberside and... even Lancashire.😮They also abandoned the Ridings.

It started as a protest

It also happens to be my dad's birthday. This year I sent him some whisky from Filey of all places.

Ah good to know. Must just be my small town that didn’t do much about it 🤣

Years since I went back to the county I was born in.

happy belated Yorkshire day. Beautiful place, my goddaughter was born there. Always a pleasure to visit, would be a great place to live too I'm sure.
