Anyone joined Ramblers?

I love walking and I'm trying to expand my social circle but I'm nervous about trying this. I'm 38 so not sure if I'm the right age group, no offence but I'd feel a right twat if I turned up and everyone was 75. Do people do this on their own or will everyone be in couples? It is clicky etc? Any positive experiences?

In my experience it is over 75s, couples, clicky and fanatical about rambling lol. As a single woman in my 40s when I went all the men were eyeing me up - doing that look you up and down thing that men do - made me feel a bit sick to be honest

I know some work people who go and love it, they are in 50s and another 60s. Looking at the pictures she posts it does look like most are 50+. I'm late 30s too and I have the same issue! I also have kids so tend to just walk with them and dream of a day when I am to able them for longer walking holidays!

Depends on the area / sometimes the weekend groups are younger

There may also be other similar local groups - I once knew someone on the ipswich outdoor group

Have you looked on Meet-up?
I've signed up to a few on there, I'm so 38

I don't know about the ramblers but there a local walking group on MeetUp. They have a few photos in their page and it seems to be a mix of ages from people in their 20s to people in their 60s.
