Well done Lionesses!

I just balled my eyes out that they won but also (a nice touch) they managed to do what the men havent managed in 56 years! Perhaps now the powers that be in football will start taking womens football more seriously.

Oh and maybe stop calling the mens game "Football" like it is the default and the women are some sort of anomaly.

It's great to see their passion at winning that's so down to earth and natural. And unplanned interviewing. It's crazy and fabulous.

Well done!

JorisBonson · 31/07/2022 20:12

Ditto, and I'm Scottish 🤣 amazing performance, imagine being a young female footballer at the moment!

Mindthegob · 31/07/2022 20:13

Way to go Lionesses!!!!!! What an amazing win! I really hope that this raises the profile of Women’s football!

I'll join you in being a blubbering wreck.

So proud and a little in shock. I'm not used to footballing victories.

dudsville · 31/07/2022 20:42

I agree, i was reaching for the tissue too. What a great thing those women have achieved.

Anothernamechangeplease · 31/07/2022 20:47

Yep, I cried too. I'm not even that much of a football fan, but what a journey. So happy for those talented young women - what a moment for them!

BugsyDrakeTableScape · 31/07/2022 21:01

Watched with my 3 girls. Totally cried. Loved that they all ran off from the interviews when their tunes came on!

QueSyrahSyrah · 31/07/2022 21:07

Amazing night! Watched it in the pub with English and German friends.

At the final whistle we shook hands and got on with our night; the last time the English & German Men's teams met our friends had to leave early because the atmosphere became too threatening Sad

JustDanceAddict · 31/07/2022 21:07

I felt very emotional too! Was fantastic.

Babymamaroon · 31/07/2022 21:08

Me too! So emotional. Absolutely incredible performance and a moment we will never forget. Well done Lionesses!!!

Same, I was crying and I'm not a football fan at all. But it was really emotional, women's teams/players have had to work so hard for so long to get here.
Was trying to impress on DD what a big deal this is.

You being happy for an England win, as a Scottish woman is probably a bigger achievement! 😅

I posted on my friends FB earlier, it was like a man and a woman with an IKEA wardrobe. He spends days saying "I can do this, I dont need help" and then she says "Oh FFS, give it here" and has it up in 20 minutes.....#justsayin' 🤔

Joris isn’t the only one! Proper happy they won.

And my little niece is as giddy as a pickle 🥳

FindingMeno · 01/08/2022 06:32

To think!!!!
When I was at school, girls weren't allowed to play football.
And now look at those beautiful wonderful women ❣
