Has anyone been to the American Bar at the Savoy lately ?

We have theatre tickets booked to see Come from Away in the middle of August.

That weekend we will be together 34 years (through thick and thin, ill health (me cancer three times) cochlear implant, lack of cash in the early years.

We will be married thirty years on the Monday and DH will have retired a week previously.

So we want to make a good day out of it, I am desperate to go to the American Bar so has anyone been lately.

Took DH for his birthday. It's fantastic - we sat at the bar and watched them make the most incredible cocktails. Just make sure you have a lot of cash 🤣

Have t been for a while but it's a wonderful place so go and book a table, explain why you're going and you'll be well looked after. Congratulations on your anniversary and facing all that adversity, spoil yourselves and have a wonderful trip!

Took Dh there for his birthday. The service, drinks and atmosphere were absolutely lovely.

I watched them carve ice into perfect large cubes for hours. Great whiskey selection if that's your tipple!

DH is really into whisky, I think we will be cabbing it to the station and home again.

Then..... the reality of us both being retired as opposed to the chat about being retired will kick in.

The American Bar is very nice. The Beaufort is also very good and under the same roof.

Can you book OP? I love it but when I tried to go a couple of weeks ago it was a 45 min wait without a booking.
Weirdly enough I was there to see CFA as well- it’s fab. Take tissues!!

CFA is brilliant, seen it three times and cried each time. So heartwarming. I hope you have a lovely time.

The coverage was very dodgy, I posted this three times in the American Bar. 🙄

Three cocktails, £65 , it was worth it for the people watching, and the general OMG it is the Savoy. We googled briefly, very briefly an overnight, we decided to stick to the cocktail bar.

I like to go to bars on my days off to take my mind off work and have a nice rest. I have a few favorite places. However, recently I was recommended a new establishment and was told that on their website I could Read more. What do you think about it? I'm thinking of going there for a change. They say it has a pretty good menu.
