Is this is a sign of a memory problem?

Generally, I have a very good memory. I am good at remembering things that happened years ago, but sometimes, I’d leave my house, lock the door and drive down the road to not remember if I’ve locked my front door or not.

Another example, would be when I’m showering, say I’ve just washed my face, it may be that im
going on to wash another part of my body and then I can’t remember If I’ve just washed my face or not.

anyone else like this or is it just me?

How old are you? Classic sign of the menopause?

Don't worry, what you're describing are things that we do so automatically that we don't remember doing them. Someone who understands more about memory than me might be able to give you a more eloquent explanation.

yup, its the stuff you do on autopilot..its quite normal especially if you have got a lot else going on

What @Moonlaserbearwolf said.
I often worry that I haven’t locked the front door when I know I almost certainly have, because it’s an automatic routine thing.

Ok I’m glad it’s ‘normal’ and not just me then!

I find it really bizarre that I have actually locked my door all of 2 seconds ago and then I can’t even remember myself doing it!
