Salou for a family holiday?

Looking for a holiday for mid September for me, DP and DS who will be 11 months. We went to Es Cana, Ibiza in June and really enjoyed it but looking to try somewhere new. Salou has some good deals but it seems to have mixed reviews. Has anyone been and can tell me what you thought? We like a fairly relaxing holiday so nice pool, beach, a few lively bars and decent entertainment but nothing crazy that attracts stags/hens. A promenade would be ideal also. We will be going all inclusive.

Have ruled Majorca out for now as I can't find anything suitable which isn't super expensive.

Salou is perfect if you want to do the park, But if not I wouldn’t bother. Sorry

We went years ago and it was super. But we had trips to Barcelona and markets. There were plenty of restaurants and a children's club.

We've been twice, it's a family friendly place. Nice beach. We were booked to go again but slightly further round - la Pineda/cap de Salou, which is apparently quieter but also has a lovely beach - but covid happened.

Also the transfer from Reus, if you fly to there, is very short which is always good when you're travelling with little ones, and Reus is a small airport unlike Palma in Mallorca which is huge and chaotic every time I've been there

It’s an easy holiday. We did parks and day trips to Barcelona. We did half board. Nothing too exciting but lazy!

I'd recommend Cap Salou, much nicer. Salou is ok though.

I'm in Salou now.

The beach is nice, but very busy at the moment and the water isn't the nicest.

It's in a good location for day trips to Barcelona.

Salou is okay - not the best place I've been to, but not the worst.

If you want to go to the theme park and water park at port aventura its great, we stayed at one of the resort hotels. Only did the town for a day visit, and went to house of illusion magic show which was good, but the town itself was only ok.

We spent a few days there (only reason was for easy access to PortAventura and Barcelona via train) and don’t think we’d return. It’s not the worst, but just had a very ‘Brits Abroad’ vibe to it. Fry ups advertised on every corner and lots of tacky shops selling very questionable items. Sitges is half way between there and Barcelona and far more relaxed, we preferred it.
