Thor Love and Thunder age suitability

I can see the film is a 12A, those who have seen it - what age do you think it's suitable to see it from? Do you have another Marvel type movie you could compare it to in terms of scares etc?

It’s no scarier than ragnarok. It is very bad though. Was so sad after I saw it.

There are some scary horror-type moments and thematically, it deals with cancer. I took DD (11) and she was OK with it, but I don’t think it would be suitable for under-10s.

I loved it! Not as much as Ragnarok (I’m probably never going to love anything as much as I love Ragnarok) - but it was ridiculously campy fun (just with added horror and cancer).

Others have covered the age issue pretty well.

I think in terms of quality that if you love everything else Taika Waititi has done (not just Ragnarok) chances are you will also love this. It's a very Taika Waititi film, but it has some inherent structural issues (I can't see any obvious ways to get around them, given the decision to adapt these particular comics storylines, but they are there).

If you like it enough on its own terms you can (and I did) adopt a "eh, no big deal" attitude to them but I can see its being deeply annoying to many other people.

Spoilers

Be aware that there is a very prominent cancer story line so if the child is likely to have personal experience of that they might find it emotional.

DD enjoyed the film, I thought it was awful although I did enjoy parts it's not as good as Thor Ragnorok.
