Newly single + holiday

I am newly single and still feeling bruised and heartbroken. I desperately want to go away somewhere sunny and warm, ideally by a beach. An all inclusive would be ideal, so I don't have to think, just sit and eat by the beach. But I am worried that resorts will be full of couples and families, and I will be the sad middle aged woman on her own. I know people won't care around me, but it's more how I feel about myself and how sad, lonely and vulnerable I will feel. Any advice?

Do you have friends who could travel with you? Or your mum? Children?

I think if your looking for happy couples you will find them! And happy families too.

No one to travel with sadly - I am alone!

I would book all inclusive by the beach etc. personally recommend tui blue Adriatic in Croatia. It's lovely. Adults only right in the beach. You can book day trips out to things if you want. Fill a kindle up with your favourite books. Can take it to diner too if that's the bit you would find tricky (I would!) and just purely indulge!!

I think you have to chose your country & resort carefully.
My sister went to Lanzarote on her own recently & enjoyed it, she stayed in an air bnb & hired a car to travel round the island.

She's also been to certain Greek Islands alone and would recommend them, very friendly.

But she did make a mistake going to Florida alone because it was actually quite old fashioned there and she was looked on with disapproval for being on her own as a woman.

Do it!

I spent years and years not having a holiday because my husband wouldn’t travel. Then I took the plunge and just decided to go on my own. Could do what I wanted, whenever I wanted and it was bliss.

I would suggest considering Italy and possibly one of the spa towns? Not beachy but I found a hotel with a roof top pool, and it was a small town not very touristy but places to eat, places to have a glass of wine, just bliss.
