Lelli Kelly School shoes - worth the money? Are Clarks better?

DD is going into P2 next month and is begging for a pair of Lelli Kelly school shoes. At £60 I am not minded to shell out on them especially as she is really hard on her shoes.

She had Clarks ones last year (then Asda after she grew out of them because it was almost end of term) and they lasted well. I see they have brought back magic step which makes me very nostalgic and I would rather get her them.

However if anyone can assure me that Lelli Kellys are not as terrible quality as they look then I will probably give in. Has anyone bought them and how did you find them?

www.stompfootwear.com/product/lelli-kelly-irene/ I've just ordered these for the autumn/winter, we've had lelli Kelly's before but not school shoes and none In stock near us to try, bit of a gamble but for £30 instead of £60 I decided it was worth a try. We've been shoe shopping in town today and it's been a disaster, we've had some poor fittings and some poor choices from some big names today. We've never had success with clarks lasting or choice, normally go with startite or M&S (they do leather, widths and half sizes). Bought a back up pair of M&S incase the lellis are a disaster.

Startrite is much better than Clarks - they last way longer.

Start rite over clarks

I bought dd red lelli kellys for school uniform is red and white so thought they would be nice. Within 2 weeks there was big chunks of the red missing and black showing through. I had to buy red nail polish and paint all the black bits. They lasted about 2 months biggest waste of money!
Dd isn't particularly heavy on shoes either.

We’ve had lelli Kelly school shoes before several times and they’ve always lasted far longer than Clark’s and my girls are more your football playing type than the sitting quietly type!

LKs look a bit tacky but are very long lasting and well made - my dd was impossible to buy for but LKs pulled her over the edge (she hated any kind of change and would wear shoes to death). Startrite are good too, our Clark’s shoes always fall apart after a few months.

Startrite. X

I'd go for proper fitting. I go to an independent shoe shop that stocks a range of brands, including LK but also ricosta and geox etc. My dd's ricosta are excellent on her narrow feet and have lasted a full school year.
